Google Pixel 4 Will Automatically Call Emergency If You Have An Accident

The feature will come to the upcoming Google Pixel 4, but it remains unknown if other Pixel smartphones will get it too.

Google is changing the Emergency Information app on Pixel phones so that they will call emergency services automatically if you have a car crash, according to a Monday report from XDS Developers. It’s unknown if the tech giant is giving this feature to all of its Pixel smartphones or the Pixel 4 only.

The app will have a new name, Personal Safety, and it will rely on your location as well as sensor readings taken from the phone’s microphone and accelerometer to detect if you have got into a crash, as explained on the site. Then, the app will play an alert the loudest it can, along with vibration. Unless you mute the app, it will proceed to call emergency services automatically and send out your location.

The feature hasn’t come to any Pixel phone, so it’s possible that Google is holding off for the October 15 event where it will announce the Pixel 4, XDA Developers says.

On Monday, an image of a possible Google Pixel 4 was leaked from Even Blass, a reliable leaker. It seems that the image reveals the smaller of the upcoming flagships in Black only.

The Pixel 4 will get announced in less than two weeks, and over the past few months, we have continuously got various rumors and leaks around the phone’s specifications and features. Besides the long-rumored camera module on the rear as well as motion sense gestures, we know that there will be an orange variant. In addition, the Pixel 4 series was spotted on Geekbench with the 4 XL 5G featuring 8GB RAM and Android 10.
