If you are looking for a new phone in the price range of Rs. 30,000, there are plenty of options for you to choose from. Smartphones from Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, Asus, and other Chinese brands are offering great value for the money. However, Samsung has recently re-entered the segment with excellent offerings. In this list, we want to show you the best phones that are available in India for a price of under Rs. 30,000.
POCO F1
The Redmi K20 Pro hasn’t made its way to India yet, so the Poco F1 is still the star of this segment. The handset delivers a flagship-level performance at a much cheaper price. It is equipped with a last year’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset, dual rear camera setup, a beefy 4,000mAh battery, and 8GB of RAM.
I don’t think I need to remind you that the Poco F1 is impressive in many aspects like battery life, performance, and price obviously. However, the brand trades off the powerful performance with the camera quality since the handset is rather weak in that department. However, you can't really ask for much more for the price. If you are looking for a smartphone to capture stunning photos, you better skip this one. It is mostly for gamers who are looking for phones to play intensive games.
The Poco F1 variant with 6GB RAM / 64GB storage is retailed at 18,690. You can also choose two other variants with 6GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage for Rs. 21,990 and Rs. 28,990, respectively.
ASUS ZenFone 5Z
The Asus ZenFone 5Z is slightly more expensive compared to the Poco F1. Still, the handset offers just as powerful performance as the Xiaomi offering with a Snapdragon 845 SoC. It sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ LCD panel. It also packs up to 8GB of RAM / 256GB of storage which can be further expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card slot. Software-wise, it runs on Android 9 Pie-based ZenUI 5.
In terms of camera, the phone features a dual camera setup, including a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.0 lens. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. Finally, it is fueled by a smaller 3,300mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
It is currently offered in two variants with 6GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. Those two options are priced at Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 25,999, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy A70
Samsung has been trying to re-enter the mid-range segment in the last few months. Its brand-new Galaxy M series and revamped Galaxy A series have been welcoming multiple smartphones with high-end features in the entry-level and mid-range segments. The Galaxy A70 is one of the great phones in the series. It sports a massive 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080) resolution and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. It is driven by a Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor, coupled with 6GB RAM / 128GB storage or 8GB RAM / 128GB storage.
Software-wise, it boots Android 9 Pie-based One UI. Fueling the phone is a massive 4,500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. For security, it features an on-screen fingerprint scanner which is quite uncommon for its price range. In terms of camera, it features triple rear cameras which are a 32MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth unit with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 32MP camera for selfies and video chats.
Even though the phone is launched in two memory configurations, only one of them makes its way in India at the moment. The single variant with 6GB RAM / 128GB storage is retailed at Rs. 28,990.
Vivo V15 Pro
The Vivo V15 Pro is equipped with several interesting features. It is one of the first phones to come with a pop-up selfie camera with 32MP resolution. During our time with the Vivo handset, we found that it offered a high-quality camera, great battery life, and an immersive display as well. However, one of its downsides is the dated micro-USB port.
On the front, it sports a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. The phone draws power from a Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB. Software-wise, it boots Funtouch 9 which is based on Android 9 Pie.
In terms of camera, it sports a triple rear camera setup, including a 48MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. Up front, it has a 32MP pop-up camera for taking selfies and video calling.
The phone is available in two variants. The 6GB RAM / 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 26,990, whereas the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage model comes with a Rs. 29,990 price tag.
Oppo R17 Pro
This Oppo handset has been available on the smartphone market for quite a long time already. It was initially launched in India in December at a price of Rs. 45,990. However, its price has been dropped all the way to Rs. 29,990 which is just fit the budget in this list.
The handset sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with 2,340 x 1,080p resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is driven by a Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is also expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. In terms of software, it boots ColorOS 5.2 which is based on Android 8.1. For biometric security, it is one of the early phones to feature an on-screen fingerprint reader.
On the imaging front, it comes with a triple camera setup at the back, comprising of a 12MP primary camera with a variable aperture of f/1.5-2.4, a 20MP camera with f/2.6 aperture and a ToF 3D camera. Up front, it features a 25MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. Finally, it packs a 3,700 mAh battery which can be rapidly recharged with 50W fast charging solution.
It is currently priced at Rs. 29,990 compared to its initial price of Rs. 45,990.
