Meizu previous announced its flagship under the name Meizu 16. Now, Meizu CEO introduced a successor to the Meizu 16th, dubbed Meizu 16s. The launch of this handset is getting closer as it was spotted getting 3C certification under the model number M971Q.

The 3C listing doesn’t give much information about the handset but it is listed to include a UP0830S charger which is the original Meizu’s fast charger that supports 24W rapid charging. That means the upcoming flagship will come with Meizu’s mCharge support. Hopefully, Meizu will equip the Meizu 16s with the Super mCharge capability that was previously introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The technology hasn’t been featured on an actual phone for now.
Meizu 16s: Expected specifications & price
Meizu CEO Jack Wong has previously confirmed some key features of the Meizu 16s on his Weibo. The overall design of the 16s will be similar to its predecessor Meizu 16th that was announced last year.

The handset was leaked to come with an FHD+ AMOLED display, protected a Gorilla Glass 6. This handset along with the Meizu 16s and possibly 16s Plus were shown a full-screen design, no notch, punch hole, or anything on their displays. Meizu called it ‘quad bezel-less display’.

The 16s will sport a 6.2-inch display while the Plus version will likely pack a 6.76-inch panel. According to the official teasers, the 16s’ chin will be 1.5mm thinner than that of the Meizu 16.
As for the hardware specifications, the Meizu 16s will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC. On the imaging front, it is said to come with a 48MP primary camera with a Sony IMX 586 sensor. Powering the phone will be a 3,600 mAh cell which is claimed to be among the slimmest ones out there in the smartphone market. The phone will have support for wireless charging and 24W fast charging.
As for the price, the Meizu 16s is expected to be priced at around RMB 3,300 which is roughly translated as Rs. 33,900.
