Alleged Galaxy S9 Active has appeared on Geekbench with the model number of SM-G889F and Exynos 9810 SoC, suggesting that it could launch soon this year.

An upcoming Samsung smartphone has surfaced on Geekbench. The phone appeared under the model number SM-G889F. According to the listing, the handset comes with a Samsung’s Exynos 9810 SoC, which is seen on the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ launched last year. So far, certain information about the handset remains unknown. However, as per previous leaked information, we expect that it may be the Galaxy S9 Active.

In addition, the SoC is paired with 4GB RAM, according to the Geekbench listing and will run Android 9.0 Pie. While the device gained 3,130 points in the single-core test, it achieved 9,050 points in the multi-core test. Besides, another version of the similar handset with SM-G889A model number got certification from Wifi Alliance in January 2019.

In February, Roland Quandt, a famous tipster, posted a video of a Samsung phone with SM-G889 model number. He described the smartphone as a powerful Galaxy S9. The phone was speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy S9 Active.

Meanwhile, Ishan Agarwal, another popular tipster, said that it may be a new Samsung high-end phone which is the successor to the Galaxy A8s. In addition, he suggested that the device could cost from $500-$600 (roughly Rs.34,600-Rs.41,000).

Currently, information about other specifications of the Galaxy S9 remains unknown. According to the previous leak last year, the phone could sport a 5.8-inch quad HD+ (1,440 x 2,960) screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Instead of featuring a dual-edge curved screen like the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy S9 Active will have a flat screen with the thick bezels.

Additionally, the device probably has 64GB internal storage. And it could have dual rear cameras including a 12MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. The main sensor may have a variable aperture of f/1.5 - f/2.4. In addition, it is probably backed with a big 4,000mAh cell.

The Galaxy S9 Active should be unveiled in 2018 when the S9 debuted, but it didn’t. Therefore, it is likely that the S9 Active will launch this year with a different name.
