It seems like the UK is aiming to become the world leader in eradicating cybersecurity threats. In a recent move, the country's Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has announced its upcoming investment in eradicating some of the most damaging cybersecurity threats by "designing out" it.

As per Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, described the move as an important step forward in computer and internet security. According to Clark, the fight against cyber-attacks will bring mutually beneficial clarity to all sectors of the economy and better protecting consumers as well as businesses.
Clark said:

Reportedly, the security measure will be put into the design of products, including digital devices and online services. Its purpose is to ‘design out’ many forms of cyber threats by creating hardware that is extremely safe and resilient.
Reportedly, up to £70 million will be funded by government investment through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Furthermore, government investment will also sponsor £30 million to make smart systems secure.

UK Digital Minister Margot James said that they are planning to integrate cybersecurity solutions into the design of products to protect the consumers better.
Moreover, the British government wants to increase its R&D investment in the country to 2.4% by 2027 from 1.6% of GDP as of now.
As per to the National Cyber Security Centre's technical director Ian Levy, the plan is expected to make some fundamental changes in the most commonly used product.
According to recent figures, more than 40% of them have reportedly experienced at least a cybersecurity threat in the last 12 months, accounts for about 20-40% of their IT spend.
Whether for personal or business goal, we have all become reliant on digital technologies. And the more connected we are, the more dangerous cybersecurity threats become. Needless to say, the combat against eradicating cybersecurity issues is now more critical than ever.
