Telecom Products Are Now Being Under Security Testing By the Government

Telecom products, which include mobile phones and other equipment, are now being examined by the government-based facility. The Department of Telecom has set April 2019 as the time limit for the testing.
A facility has been established by the government for examining telecom equipment and products to guarantee their security in the national level of communication. Manoj Sinha, Telecom Minister, stated that they had commenced a state of the art facility for security affirmation measures, which put India at the cutting edge of technology. From the national perspective, the facility would work for security, and assist the progress of certification ecosystem and testing in the country.
Like the aforementioned, the Department set the time limit until April next year for necessary examination of some telecom products. The examination will be implemented on all available products sold domestically or imported from foreign country. Nevertheless, other gear such as audio conferencing, satellite equipment, modem, fax machines, and so on, would undergo the necessary examination on 1st January 2019.
Manoj Sinha expressed that the use of telecom services has been growing exponentially since 2014 and it would be the right thing for the consumers being provided with the well-qualified and well-secured service. As a result, broadband subscribers have increased almost eight times to 447 million in 2018 from just only 61 million in 2014. Average data consumptions (on one person) has also risen from 62MB (2014) monthly to 3.2GB (2018). We can say that India nowadays has topped the consumption of mobile data in the world.
The minister also said that according to the industry reports, India is amongst the top countries that have the fastest growth in mobile phones. He states that it is India’s dream to pioneer in the rollout 5G, and that dream has already started to come into play. The National Policy towards Digital Communication in 2018 aims the ubiquitous tower and tower infrastructure rollout in India. The impact in economic aspects of 5G in India is anticipated to have the worth of over $1 trillion.
