A case has been registered by the police against Snapdeal founders, Rohit Bansal, and Kunal Bahl following a local Congress leader’s allegation that the online shopping site delivered fake products to him.
Both were recorded under the Indian Penal Code’s section 420 for cheating. Businessman Indermohan Singh Honey accused the company of sending him fake products instead of a Woodland wallet and belt.

Just recently, during the Lok Sabha election, Singh was the party’s spokesperson. According to the police, he made his order online on July 17.
In a complaint filed to the Gumanpura police station, Singh wrote that he suspected the authenticity of the products he received at his home. So he decided to take them with him to a Woodland showroom.
The staff there, after examining the products, confirmed that they were fake, stated MAnoij Singh Sikarwal, Gumanpura station house officer.

To investigate the case brought against Snapdeal founders, the police has assigned an assistant sub-inspector.
The businessman has claimed that in the past, he has already had a bad experience with the shopping site.
Singh said that he order a wristwatch on Snapdeal a few months ago but didn’t receive the product. However, a message from the site announced that the product had already been delivered. After he filed a complaint, he received a refund.
