ShareChat To Pull More Than 4 Lakh Posts For Community Guideline Violation

On April 17, the Indian social networking platform ShareChat announced its removing 487,000 posts after realizing these posts violated its terms of use and the community guidelines.
Along with the four Internet companies, ShareChat signed and agreed with the terms in the “Voluntary Code of Ethics” with the hope to bring a transparent election process to the nation. The company stated,
Until now, the app has supported up to 14 Indian languages and attracted approximately 450 lakhs active users per month. According to the statistics, up to 13,195 posts taken down out of the platform were relating to news and politics sections. All of these posts allegedly violated community guidelines. Besides, 6431 posts were flagged as fake news by the fact-checking tool from newsChecker.in.
The ShareChat’s Head of Policy Berges Y Maly said,
