Samsung Sues Its Ambassador For Using iPhone

With a recent incident, Samsung may have learnt that it may not be the smartest move to have high-profile celebrities promote the brand.

iPhone Vs Samsung

With a recent incident, Samsung may have learnt that it may not be the smartest move to have high-profile celebrities promote the brand. It’s actually a common scenario to catch celebrities who are Samsung’s brand ambassador use iPhone or tweet via iPhone. For instance, a few years ago, Kate Upton, a supermodel, was hired to promote Samsung Galaxy Note 10 launch at an event held in New York City. And at that exact event, the supermodel was captured using her iPhone, hence ruining the entire purpose and turning into advertising for Apple instead.

It seems like Samsung has already had enough of this kind of shenanigans. The Mirror reported that Samsung filed a lawsuit against Ksenia Sobchack, a Russian socialite and its brand ambassador. The Russian socialite was caught with her iPhone X on camera, though she tried to hide the phone with a paper sheet.

If you cannot imagine how it happened, here’s the evidence.

Things get worse when Sobchak was spotted using her own iPhone at several high-profile social events. You may want to note that the contract requires Sobchack to appear in public using a Samsung smartphone.

Obviously, the lawsuit only embarrasses Samsung even more as the story is now under the spotlight. How exciting it is to see Sobchak’s response to the lawsuit if Samsung goes after her aggressively.

In recent years, no other celebrities paid to promote the Android brand turned out to use iPhone. Gal Gadot, the Wonder Woman star, was recently caught tweeting to endorse Huawei Mate 10 Pro but via her iPhone.
