Samsung India To Donate Rs 20 Crore To PM CARES COVID-19 Fund

To contribute its efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Samsung India will make a donation of Rs 20 crore.

To contribute its efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Samsung India will make a donation of Rs 20 crore.
Rs 15 crore will be donated to the PM CARES fund while Rs 5 crore will be donated to Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh to support the country during this difficult time. Moreover, Samsung employees around the country are making their own contributions.
The company said it will combine the donations from the employees. Once everything is done, the total amount will be sent to the PM CARES fund in the next few weeks.
In a statement, the company said that Samsung India teams had supported various governments as well as local authorities and healthcare workers to prepare a meaningful and extensive strategy to fight the pandemic.
In Noida, the company is helping the local administration and the community by sending hospitals medical equipment that is much needed.
Until now, Samsung has donated thousands of personal preventive equipment kits and preventive masks to hospitals.
The company has also provided hospitals and other facilities with infra-red thermometers together with public address systems. Samsung also supplied air purifiers to improve medical facilities’ ambient air quality.
For its Samsung Smart Healthcare citizenship programme, Samsung has been supporting the local police and local administration in Noida by providing the local communities with food packets.
Samsung has also allowed its users to make donations to the PM CARES Fund via the Samsung Pay platform.
