PM Modi To Punish People Mocking The Vande Bharat Express

After the Vande Bharat Express broke down during its augural run, the Prime Minister of India wanted to punish people who mock the train.

 

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said that those who mock the Vanda Bharat Express, the first engine-less train of the country should receive punishments for insulting Indian technicians and engineers. The train’s inaugural run was interrupted with technical problems on Saturday.

 

The comment of the Prime Minister seems to be a direct response to opposition leaders’ questions which had blamed the government on rushing the launch of the train.

The Indian government has been questioned by several leaders over the incident occurring on Saturday. The Vande Bharat Express, or Train 18, broke down when it was 200km away from Delhi. People on board, who were mostly journalists and railway officials, needed to be transferred to a different train after the staff informed that the train’s control systems had failed.

 

 

The Vande Bharat Express, which was the first semi-high-speed train of India, arrived at Delhi several hours later at a slower speed. After that, it underwent repair and started its commercial operations the day after.

 

Rahul Gandhi, a member of the parliament, had expressed his criticism on his Twitter account.
