As 2020 is coming to an end to make way for 2021, Google has just shared a list of what Indians searched for the most in the last year.
According to Google, the search term dominating the list this year is no other than the global concern right now – the COVID-19 pandemic with a surge of queries about the virus.
The U.S presidential election attracted lots of interest this year, along with the Indian Premier League, Delhi elections, and Bihar elections.

Interestingly, Joe Biden - US President-elect is among the top personalities in India along with Arnab Goswami - a TV journalist. Kanika Kapoor is also featured on the list of most-searched people this year in India. Other household names on the list are Amitabh Bacchan, Kangana Ranaut, Rhea Chakraborty, and Ankita Lokhande.
Dil Bechara occupies the top spot on the list of most-searched movies in 2020, ranking higher than Soorarai Pottru – a Tamil action-drama title. The rest of the top five are Gunjan Saxena, Shakuntala Devi, and Tanhaji.

It comes as no surprise that the COVID-19 pandemic, the US elections, and the Indian Premier League captured the most attention in 2020 with people searching for updates and results.
So here is the ranking. Occupying the top spot is the Indian Premier League, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Standing at the third spot is the US election. The fourth and fifth spots belong to PM Kisan Yojana and the Bihar election respectively.

The COVID-19 emerged as the most-searched term on Google globally, the second spot belongs to the US election, followed by Kobe Bryant.
