The Taiwan-based company MediaTek might fly under the radar of many people, but its processor products are pretty awesome of some sort. A teaser poster on Weibo has recently unveiled about Helio G90 - the first gaming chipset of the company. However, there's still no detailed information about it until now. As most predictions suggest, the new chipset is based on the predecessor Helio P90, which was launched in the past year.

In case you're curious of the MediaTek Helio P90 specs, here're some helpful information. Firstly, it comes with two ARM Cortex A75 cores alongside six ARM Cortex A55 cores - all of them clocked at 2GHz. Besides, the Helio P90 is also paired with PowerVR GM 9446 GPU from Imagination Technologies. Last but not least, the processor supports real-time beautification, deep learning for facial detection and more thanks to the APU 2.0 core.
The teaser of Helio G90 comes after Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with the commitment of better experience for gaming in the 5G era. The Adreno 640 GPU will accompany the upcoming Qualcomm chipset to improve the entire performance by up to 15 percent.

As the name suggested, gaming chipsets will give a hand to make more dedicated gaming phones in the future. For example, the Snapdragon 855 Plus will be packed under the hood of upcoming Asus ROG Phone 2 for enhanced cooling and more useful features while playing games. As days went by, Realme also gave hints about a new device paired with Snapdragon 855 Plus as well.
During the Computex 2019, MediaTek announced its first built-in modem called Helio M70 5G, instead of an external modem as which happened on previous variants. Without any doubt, the modem is supposed to compete with Samsung Exynos 9820 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, which support 5G technologies through external modems.
