Recently, Lyft has shown how it would provide help to people when a natural disaster occurs. The firm’s new plan is called Disaster Relief Access Program which provides information and free rides for those in the zone of influence.

Lyft said in a blog post:

Once it is safe to go out on the road, affected people can look for free rides by Lyft using “ride codes” shared on its Facebook and Instagram pages or by local news and nonprofits organizations. The free codes, in addition, will also be shared on Facebook’s Crisis Response Hub.
On the other hand, the California-based transportation network firm complies with emergency declarations which affect pricing and road closures. Lyft also guarantees to provide transportation assistance to volunteers and first responders.

Otherwise, the ride-sharing enterprise will use its social channels to direct people in affected areas to other useful services, such as United Way Support 211, Airbnb’s Open Homes, and other shelter locations nearby.
As a part of Lyft’s City Works program with an aim to improve the quality of life in urban cities, the disaster relief plan will involve transporting people to shelters and other refuge areas. Whereas there is certainly a PR view to all of these things, this humanely innovative program could be notably essential. If a disaster comes about, you will not want to make a guess at where the assistance comes from. This might help you in planning a retreat to security and clarify whether to seek alternate options.
