At the beginning of 2018, Samsung introduced the foldable screen for its first foldable smartphone, which has stirred up the exciting waves in the tech world. Right after that, the prototype of this smartphone came into the public while the company also declared its arrival next year, in 2019.
Another tech company, LG, also from the South Korean, seems to have the same idea with Samsung. The company has developed its own foldable smartphone which can’t allegedly be rolled out as soon as it expects.
Citing from many sources, LG has had a plan to introduce the latest foldable handset made by itself in the US’s CES conference on January 2019. However, Evan Blass, as a tipster, foresaw that it might need more time to finish its products and the rollout wouldn’t possibly arrive at CES 2019. This revelation is provided on Blass’s official Twitter.
A lot of tech fans are rumoring that the world will see the latest foldable smartphone from LG at the CES conference in 2019 and the South Korean tech company has completed its new handset. However, the reason why LG decides to delay the launch is still a secret to all of us.
To compete with Samsung as its big rival, LG is likely to roll out this advanced smartphone at the end of Quarter 1 or at the beginning of Quarter 2 next year.
2019 is expected to become the year of foldable smartphones, as well as the year of the 5G smartphone. Until this moment, there have been at least three tech companies confirming that they are developing their own fifth-generation handsets and will launch them next year. There is no official information concerning the proper timeline.
This is not the first time LG has brought flexible displays to its users. This kind of display has come up on some other smartphones and foldable TVs manufactured by LG. One of those is the LG G Flex, the first smartphone with a flexible screen.
Compared to its rival, Samsung also has its certain advantages which have been clearly shown via its modern curved screens on some flagship smartphones and TVs.
