Jio announced its AI-enabled Video Call Assistant at the IMC (India Mobile Congress) as the new customer support solution. This tool is expected to spare customers of call holds when they seek help via support calls. Users do not need to install any app, and the feature can be accessed by a 4G phone call.
The Video Call Assistant can listen and comprehend the queries of customers. It will give callers on the other end, the best solutions possible and continue learning constantly. The AI is the joint effort of Jio and Radisys, a US-based firm and a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. With this virtual assistant, brands can increase the efficiency of customer support.
Along with the Video Call Assistant, Jio also introduced the Jio Bot Maker, the latest addition to its Jio Bot platform. This software can help small businesses build their own AI-enabled bots. According to the company, the bots can be customized to suit the requirements of each brand as well as appear with a unique avatar to represent the brand. The bots will be available via helpline that enables video calls. The assistant has support for a wide range of languages, thus making it even more accessible.
Reliance Jio’s parent company Reliance Industries is India’s largest industrial house. It also owns the nation’s biggest retail chain, named Reliance Retail.
The company does not say when it plans to release the developer kit to the public but a spokesperson said that it would do so in the near future. According to Mathew Oommen, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd's President, Video Call Assistant is part of Jio's effort to help businesses operate more efficiently. And that the company is committed to bring relevant and advanced digital solutions to the market.
