Apple is always proud of its security-centric products, and we also acknowledge how great these devices are, from iPhones to Apple laptops. Whatsoever, a team of well-known hackers has successfully unlocked tons of iPhones with an advanced “jailbreak” tool. Strikingly, no iPhone model is proof against this unlocking tool, even devices that have updated the latest version of iOS.
Widely known as “unc0ver”, the hacker team behind this jailbreak has already introduced it on their official Twitter account. According to the announcement, the tool support almost all iPhones running iOS 11 and above, including the recently-released iOS 13.5 version.
There is no additional word on which vulnerability they have made use of to create the jailbreak, but evidently, it won’t seem to last forever as Apple has to patch the flaws and shut down the jailbreak.
Since Apple decided to keep its own ecosystem “walled”, we’ve been used to putting belief in the company and downloading apps that are allowed. Some of us thus has tried to break the rules, and they already invented the “jailbreak” method based on an undisclosed vulnerability in the iOS system.
In other words, jail-breakers want to customize their iPhones without having to care about fussing restrictions – just like what they’ve done with Android smartphones.
Security researchers meanwhile warn iPhone users against jailbreaking. Briefly, these practices also come at an unexpected cost as they expose your device to more fatal vulnerabilities. Never take the plunge!
For ages, unlocking an iPhone has been considered as something impossible, and police and authorities like FBI agents also have to buy spyware tools for criminal surveillance, of course, without any support from Apple.
