This action will not only increase sales volume and the use of electric vehicles, but it will also blows the corruption at RTO (Regional Transport Offices).
Also, the ministry aims at reducing dependence on imported crude oil. Another plus is alternative fuels like methanol and ethanol can bring down the level of pollution in India.

According to officials, this commercial permit does not save the vehicles from procedures and documents such as passenger insurance cover, PUC certificate for methanol and ethanol cars, valid registration, and other conditions.
Electric vehicles will have plates too. Commercial vehicles will go with green plates including yellow letters and number; and non-commercial vehicles will have green plates but with white letters and numbers.
