Google is gearing to roll out Play Pass, which could be a subscription service for Android games and apps currently available in the Play Store. The first hints about Google Play Pass surfaced in 2018, but things appear to escalate when Apple Arcade is rolling out too.
On Monday, the tech giant tweeted and included a GIF resembling a raffle ticket or an admission.
The company posted the tweet nearly a month after it was reported to be testing the service that may potentially cost Rs 360 per month. The games coming along with this service subscription include Marvel Pinball and Stardew Valley.
Apple announced its Apple Arcade back in March alongside News Plus, TV Plus, Apple Card, etc. Apple Arcade is like the App Store’s extension, which it said to include more than 100 new, exclusive games. The tech giant said that it will roll out the service to over 150 countries this fall and it’s working with developers to create the games.
Apple hasn’t revealed the cost of its gaming service, but the upcoming event may tell us all we need to know.
A spokesman of Google refused to give comments on the Play Pass.
Last month, Google’s testing of the Play Pass revealed a few details about the service. Google’s upcoming service will not be limited to games but will also include apps. And for a monthly cost lower than that of the Arcade, Android users will likely get to enjoy much more.
