Google recently rolled out the mobile recharge function on Search for users in India. What the update does is letting users search and compare recharge plans across carriers as well as doing a recharge right from Search itself.
For now, the function is available for Android users who have signed in to their Google accounts. It covers services from BSNL, Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone-Idea. Another benefit is users can recharge for another person with the function.

What users need to do when they want to take advantage of this function is to type in keywords like ‘sim recharge' or ‘prepaid mobile recharge,’ and the like. If you have signed in, a Mobile Recharge section will appear.
The next step is to fill in essential information like operator, circle, and phone number and then click on ‘Browse plans.’ You will now see a list of available prepaid plans from the operator you choose. Once you have made up your mind about your preferred plan, select it from the list.
Once a plan is chosen, users will be presented with a list of compatible offers from some providers. To check out, click on the name of a provider. Paytm, FreeCharge, Google Pay, and MobiKwik are the providers listed for this feature.
When the transaction is completed, users will see a button leading them back to Search. The confirmation page has customer support information for you should any issue arises.
Not all Android users have seen this feature but Google plans to roll it out to everyone soon. The plan is to add more carriers and providers to the list so that users have more choices.
