Google employees have decided to hold a sit-in on May Day to be against the company’s retaliation towards those who organized and participated in the walkout six months ago.

On Twitter, the organizers who led Google employees to implement the historic walkout in 2018 notified the sit-in schedule: The demonstration will take place at 11 a.m on May 1st.
They shared in their tweet,

In November 2018, up to over 20,000 workers took part in the walkout to protest how the company had tackled all allegations concerning sexual harassment at the workplace. Although Google managers gave away, their employees couldn’t feel comfortable with its decisions. That’s why internal controversy occurred and pushed the company into a dilemma.
A few days ago, two of the walkout organizers revealed that they were reassigned or demoted for what they had done. As per the huge tech company, it claimed that there has been no relationship between these changes and retaliation acts. However, in addition to the two organizers mentioned above, many other Google employees have been sharing their stories that were allegedly related to the retaliation from the company.

Google employees are showing their strong determination to protest the company’s wrong decision, as well as change executive decisions if necessary. In the past, they were against the development of tools such as Project Maven – an AI system project of the Pentagon with the support from Google. Of course, in the end, the tech company gave up this project.
In recent times, Google had to disband an Ethics Advisory Board (EAB) after its employees disagreed with the participation of the Heritage Foundation President.
A representative from the company hasn’t made any comment on the May Day sit-in. According to the representative,
