Google Adds A New Portrait Mode And Many Other Features To Chromebooks

As of now, the portrait mode is developed exclusively on the Pixel Slate. However, it seems that the company plans to expand this feature to other Chromebooks.

On August 15, Google just revealed the good news for those who are using Chromebooks and fall in love with shooting portraits on these devices. The company added some new features in the newest update of Chrome operating system including virtual desktop support, centralized music controls, and a portrait mode for its camera application.

As of now, the portrait mode is developed exclusively on the Pixel Slate. However, it seems that the company plans to expand this feature to other Chromebook tablets. In fact, the tech giant’s move is supposed to be hard to explain because most of the Chromebooks have low-resolution cameras, except for the Pixel Slate.

In other words, the latest feature appears to be useless when being added to these devices. In addition, Google allegedly doesn’t have any plan to produce new tablets in the future. As such, the portrait mode won’t probably have a lot of fans.

Back to the new update, Google has enhanced the interface of the camera application, which allows its users to change between many various camera modes on tablets. The new feature comes to both the Pixel Slate and other Chrome OS tablets. Besides, a new button called “Clear all” is just added to the notification shade, and therefore, users can keep track of Play Store prompts more easily.

However, the most notable thing in the latest update of Chrome OS hails from the information that Google showed the whole blog post on its Keyword blog. Also in this post, the company promises that it will share information about the next update of the Chrome operating system. As such, Google has made great efforts to bring a more transparent approach for each new Chrome OS update. Version 76 of Chrome OS is being gradually introduced, so don’t worry if your tablet hasn’t yet updated all of the new features.
