At the ‘Google For India’ event, the Mountain View-based tech company made an official announcement on its latest features that are developed for Google Pay users in India. They include Business app, ‘The Spot Platform’ and Tokenised cards.
Tokenised Cards
Indian users will soon have a chance to experience this feature on Google Pay. The company plans to bring Tokenised cards to some VISA cards of SBI, Standard Chartered, Kotak, and HDFC banks. Two other cards including Rupay and Mastercard will be the next targets of the new feature. With Tokenised cards, Google Pay users don’t need to redirect to enter OTP codes when paying via cards. In addition, a PIN is unnecessary on tokenized cards with any transaction below Rs 2,000.
Google Pay For Business App
The new feature has just been launched in India. With it, merchants can make verification more conveniently than before. The Business app operates based on the video verification process in which users will register their own business on the Google Pay platform. The company also requires them to confirm some information relating to their business.
The Spot Platform
In a bid to enhance the interactivity of businesses when making transactions on Google Pay, the search giant developed a feature called ‘The Spot Platform’. It allows users to create new mini-sites on Google Pay to offer more choices to their customers. For instance, businesses can create menus in their food services. Besides, ‘Spot Codes’ is another advantage that helps their customers buy food or book tickers more rapidly.
Google made a specific example to help users get more about the Spot platform. The company placed orders by scanning a Spot code and chose to pick the goods up later. In addition, users can see the menu available on the food box when scanning an NFC Spot code. According to the company, users just need to have a fundamental knowledge of Java scripts and HTML codes to use this feature.
