Recently, a Facebook’s employee working in Seattle was tested positive for the Coronavirus, or COVID-19, so Facebook has urged its 5,000 staff in the area to work from home until the end of March.
On Wednesday, a company’s representative said that one of its contractors in the Stadium East office might have contracted the Coronavirus. All of the employees in the area had been notified and Facebook had adhered to the advice of health officials to prioritize the safety of its staff.

The contractor in question was last in the Stadium East office on the 21st of February. The office will remain closed until Monday when the incubation period of the Coronavirus ends.
According to King County’s updated guidance, all Facebook’s employees based in Seattle are encouraged to work from home until the 31st of March.
So far, Washington State has the largest number of people contracting the Coronavirus in the U.S. The pandemic has claimed the lives of ten citizens. The U.S health officials shared that there was a minimum of 39 reported cases with 231 people were under supervision.
Amazon also had one of its Seattle employees diagnosed with the Coronavirus earlier this week. The company notified its staff that the employee in question went home on Tuesday, the 25th of February, feeling unwell and had not been back to the office since.

Google has advised its employees in Washington offices to remain home if possible, as stated by a company’s spokesperson on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Microsoft also advised the same. They said if employees’ positions require them to work from the office, they should keep a distance of at least 1.8 meters from other employees. In-person meetings are also advised to be as short as possible.
