- Facebook Stops Showing Australian Content, Even From Government Sites
With Facebook Dating has been launched in a total of 19 countries with 14 of them were new on the list, you now have another way to see if there are people might be open to a romantic relationship with you in your friend list. This new function is called “Secret Crush,” and it allows you to show your intention to up to 9 friends. If he or she joins Facebook Dating and shows interest back by liking you, they will get a message saying that someone is interested in dating them. If they select you as a secret crush, you will also get a notification.
Facebook said that a user does not need to create a profile in the Dating section to be added. A lot of people are still shy away from the idea of finding a partner on a social site, so this feature might help them come out of their shyness and be more open. However, knowing if one of your friends have a crush on you sounds appealing enough on its own already.
If you have not had a chance to see or try Facebook Dating, imagine it like a version of Hinge. While apps like Tinder requires you to swipe to find a match, this new function from Facebook asks you to provide answers and make conversations with content in another’s person profile. However, the company does not want you to date virtually only. It combines with events and groups so that you two can have appointments in real life too.
For the time being, Facebook Dating is on the site’s app, and there is an age restriction for people under 18 years old. There is no ad, and you have access to all of the features for free. Compare with Facebook, what you have to provide in the Dating function is much less. This profile will be public for all of your possible matches.
