This romantic text which sounds to be from a boyfriend or girlfriend is likely to make a day of his/her partner brighter. However, the next text in this conversation probably seems slightly more strange.

If you feel something wrong in this text, you are right. The text is not sent from your lover. Instead, it is made from a bot that may be created by your sweetheart.
A Chinese programmer who has been working for JD.com created a chat because he doesn’t want to neglect the messages from his girlfriend on WeChat platform due to busy work. This bot worked all the time and would reply to each message from his girlfriend immediately.
This engineer named Li Kaixiang posted on Weibo that he was surprised when knowing that his sweetheart had chatted with his chatbot 300 messages by the time he finished work.
In a part of the conversation, his girlfriend asked why he answered so quickly. Receiving this text, the bot surprisingly plays dumb.

Today, the chatbot has become essential and popular in our life. Currently, many companies create their own bots to answer clients’ messages while virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa or Xiaolce, a Mandarin bot of Microsoft have helped us more convenient when chatting with inanimate subjects.
Bots which imitate real people have been paid attention by many people as well and not just due to the film Her. A Chinese application for dating attracted the attention for charging men to talk to prospective girlfriends which were bots.
There is no indication that the bot made by Li was created to deceive his girlfriend to think that he was actually answering her messages. However, we could not know about that since the Weibo account of Li might have been deleted.
The conversation of Li’s bot and his girlfriend spread widely on Weibo at the weekend after the screenshots of the conversation were shared by many local media outlets.
A person commented on the news:

Many people admired this romantic action of Li when creating a bot to make his partner happy. There were also some people admitting that chatting to a chatbot is probably more interesting than a real boyfriend.
