A horrific crime happened in a secluded place outside of Bengaluru in which an Ola cab driver was beaten and robbed by four men. Not only that, the men requested him to make a video call to his wife. She was then asked to strip and took screenshots of it.
Ola cab driver, Somashekhar received a booking from Benguluru’s Adugodi to Dommasandra. The distance between these two destinations is about 22km. Around 10:30pm, when the cab was closed to the destination, Somashekhar was asked to go further towards these men's home. After that, the men then started beating him, grabbed his car key and drove away.
Somashekhar told News18 that these four men drove around for about 100km. They asked him for all of his money. Somashekhar had Rs 9,000 in his bank account. But they still wanted more and ordered him to tell his friends to send more. There were Rs 20,000 in Somashekhar’s Paytm account. So he called a relative, sent the money to him through Paytm and asked that relative to transfer the money to his bank account. After that, these robbers withdrew all those money.
He added:

Ola spokesperson said in a statement that the company regrets the terrible experience the cab driver and his family had been through. Ola has been getting in touch with the driver to offer him support and assist him in working with authorities for further investigation. Ole emphasized that they always value their driver-partners for the work and stand by them against any intimidation or humiliation of any kind.
After robbing Somashekhar, on Saturday morning the robbers took him to a lodge located in Channapatna in Ramanagara district where he managed to escape by jumping out of the toilet window.
He ran to the closest police station and reported the whole situation, but when the police reached the lodge, the men were long gone. An investigation has been carried out.
