Twitter lists are a handy feature to help users sort those they follow into categories. However, it seems like not many people pay enough attention to this useful feature.
If you asking yourself: ”What are lists on Twitter?” here is the explanation. Lists are curated groups that users can create themselves are follow those of others.
When the ones you follow are in groups, you can easily find and see the updates of the subjects you like.
Twitter lists often send notifications to those who have been added to someone else’s groups, but if for some reason, you do not want it to do so, there is a way to opt out.
The solution we are talking about is private lists, and we will show you how to create one of them:
Step 1: Find lists on Twitter. If you are on Twitter desktop client, it is on the sidebar. If you are on the app, it is among other personal pages appearing when you tap on your profile images.
Step 2: On the top right corner, you will see the create button. Tap on it and the app will ask you to fill in the name and some descriptions for the list.
Step 3: There is a box at the bottom and if you tick it, your list will become private.
Lists in Twitter created in this way will not send notifications to users when they are added.
If you have several lists, the private ones will have an icon of a lock on them so that you can tell them apart.
Making Twitter lists are a wonderful method to sort people into categories. Give it a try and see how your life becomes easier with them around.
