Change the settings of your Facebook

Facebook's simple settings don't allow you to adjust the quality of the videos and images that you upload on the platform via your smartphone. However, you could control the videos on your NewsFeed. To make this change, follow these steps:

- From your smartphone, tap on Facebook application.

- Tap the three dash icon on the upper right corner of the app (Android users).

- Tap on the "Settings & Privacy" drop-down menu, then choose "Settings."

- There, toggle off the button "Videos in News Feed Start with Sound."

- Toggle off "Upload Photos in HD" and  "Upload Videos in HD" options.

- Then, tap on "Autoplay" to visit the "Autoplay" page.

- There, depending on your preferences, you could choose between "Never Auto-Play Videos" and "On Wi-fi Connections Only." Both options will help you save lots of mobile data.

Data Saver

The app also gives you a "data saver" feature that will reduce images' size and disables auto-play video for you. Follow these steps to turn this feature on.

- From your smartphone, tap on Facebook application.

- Tap on the "Settings & Privacy" drop-down menu, then choose "Data Saver."

- Then on the "Data Saver" page, toggle it on.
