How To Take Screenshots On Your Apple Watch

Your Apple Watch can take screenshots too and the process is easy. However, if you want to see what you have taken, you might want to put in some more time

Screenshots can be handy in many situations, like when you break a personal running record and you want to share it with your friends, or when you do a how-to guide and you need to show your readers all of the steps, illustrated with pictures.

Your Apple Watch can take screenshots too and the process is easy. However, if you want to see what you have taken, you might want to put in a little more time.

Activate The Screenshot Feature Of The Apple Watch

The feature that helps you take screenshots on the Apple Watch needs to be activated from your iPhone’s Watch app.

  • Go to the app on your phone.
  • Select “General.”
  • Scroll down until you see the option “Enable Screenshots” and activate it.

In "General," activate "Enable Screenshots."

Now with the feature turned on, users can take screenshots with the Apple Watch by holding the side button and the crown at the same time. You will see the display flashes white and the watch will make a sound signaling you that a picture has been taken.

Here is how you can see what you have captured:

  • Access the watch app on your iPhone.
  • Select “Media Types” and then “Screenshots,” which will show you all of the screenshots you have taken, including those captured by the watch.

Sync Albums To View Screenshots On Apple Watch

Viewing screenshots on the Apple Watch is possible, but you will have to prepare for it. To do so, the album on your phone must be synced with the watch:

  • Open the Watch app.
  • Scroll down and select the Photos app.
  • Choose “Synced Album.”
  • Choose the “Recently Added” album.

There is no need to sync the whole album with your watch though. You can gather the screenshots you want to see in one album and sync that one only. To add photos, go on the Watch app and move pictures into that album.
