They are probably using a new hot trend app called FaceApp that allows users to turn their present face into a 60-year-old face. In other words, this app is designed for those who want to know their appearance in the future or just for fun.
FaceApp was first introduced two years ago, in 2017. It rapidly managed to attract interest from netizens. This app has become popular once again after lots of celebrities and many other users are sharing photos of their 60-year-old faces on both Twitter and Instagram.
The application aims at mobile users and leverages a variety of features and filters to create extremely realistic ‘old’ selfies. In the free version, users can only access some certain filters such as the Old face filter.
In addition, it has many other amazing filters including changing hair color, turning your face to a younger one, adding smiles or makeup, and more.
In terms of its technology, developers use AI algorithms to create FaceApp and increase the authenticity in all details in users’ photos, from eyes, skin to wrinkles.
