Samsung's newly launched UV sterilizer for smartphones can terminate up to 99% of bacteria on both sides of the smartphone in just 10 minutes.

Experts have pointed out that there are more germs on your smartphone than on a toilet’s seat. And with people’s frequency of using their smartphones, it is a must to clean them.

Keeping that in mind, Samsung has just launched a new UV sterilizer for smartphones. This is currently being sold in Thailand at 1.590 Baht or Rs 3,800. The sterilizer is said to be able to terminate up to 99% of bacteria on both sides of the smartphone in just 10 minutes.

Of course, you can also sterilize other devices like earphones, smartwatches, or face masks. In a promotional image, Samsung even puts a pair of sunglasses in this sterilizer.

Besides being able to sterilize smartphones, the new device of Samsung can also work as a wireless charger. So, if your smartphone ever runs out of battery, you can put it inside the sterilizer. Your smartphone will be charged and cleaned at the same time.

The device uses a USB-C charging port. Its dimension is 22.8 x 12.8 x 4.9cm. Even bigger smartphones like Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Fold will fit inside. With the Galaxy Fold, of course, you have to fold it.

You can also sterilize other devices like earphones, smartwatches, or face masks.

Back in March, there was information about Samsung introducing a new service called “Galaxy Sanitizing Service,” allowing users to come and get their smartphones cleaned in any of the company’s service centers. Customers can come to any Samsung service center around the world to clean, disinfect, and sanitize their smartphones without having to pay anything.
