Samsung is said to be unveiling a new high-end tablet within this year. Ahead of the official announcement from the company, some the tablet’s live images have appeared on SamMobile, which claims that it would have the name Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 rather than Galaxy Tab S5 as revealed by previous rumors. The company must have planned to change the name after introducing the Galaxy Tab S5e in February.
Unsimilar to the Galaxy Tab S4 that was introduced with a Snapdragon 835 SoC, the upcoming Tab S6 will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset. According to the listing of Geekbench, this tablet would run Android 9 Pie at launch and pack 6GB of RAM. The tablet will also support stylus since there is a groove on the back to magnetically house the S-Pen.
Moreover, the upcoming tablet is tipped to sport a 10.5-inch screen. And should the report come true, the new tablet will not have 64GB internal storage variant since the base variant would have 128GB internal storage and the top-end variant would pack 256GB internal storage.
The pen connects through Bluetooth and it is likely that Samsung probably unveils new features for its S-Pen. While it might be the first Samsung Galaxy tablet to come with a dual rear camera setup, the relevant details remain unknown at present. When Samsung is interested in the Time-of-Flight sensor, it would not be quite surprising to see it in the tablet.
The upcoming Galaxy Tab 6 has SM-T865 model number for the LTE variant and SM-T860 for the Wifi-only variant. The tablet comes in three color options including Brown, Grey, and Blue. It also has keyboard accessory support. However, it remains to be seen when the company plans to launch the Galaxy Tab S6. So far there has been no information about the launch announcement along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, we should stay tuned for more news.
