Many people may not feel pleased with the MacBook Pro’s keyboard, the Touch Bar and they may think that the USB-C connection is over-relied, but the high screen quality, lightweight and excellent performance of MacBook Pro is unbeatable. However, as OLED display has come out, which is a true competitor of Retina Display from MacBook, with high contrast, HDR and wide gamut. Another advantage of Windows laptops is that Windows has 14-inch laptops, which are smaller and lighter compared to MacBook Pro’s 15-inch laptops, but not too small like 13-inch screens and cost less. Besides, multiscreen designs have been experienced.
Asus ZenBook Pro 15
This is the best all-around alternative for the MacBook despite its completely different design. The laptop has almost the same weight and size, featuring a full-size keyboard with backlit, a NanoEdge touchscreen, discrete graphics, as well as an Adobe RGB 4K screen with excellent color accuracy, meaning it has higher pixel density compared to the Retina display.
The laptop offers great performance, but it's still not as good as the MacBook's Core i9-8950HK even when you may blame on the different memory configurations. And one big weakness of the ZenBook Pro 15 is its battery life, but its price is just two-thirds that of the MacBook and it's likely to outperform the 15-inch entry-level MacBook that costs about the same.
Razer Blade 15
If you love the Macbook for its featureless-slab design, this Razer offering is the right alternative, especially when the maker now offers the Mercury White color option. The pricing o this laptop is similar to that of the entry-level MacBook Pro model and its performance should be at the same level too.
However, the white variant is only available with a 1,980x1,080 screen and its chip is limited to i7-8750H only, along with the 16GB RAM and quite small 512GB SSD memory. It also weighs 220 grams more than the MacBook.
If you can go with black, you can upgrade to a 4K screen with 100% Adobe RGB quality, as well as a GeForce RTX 2070 for an extra cost. The battery life is acceptable but gets worse if you’re on a 4K screen.
Lenovo Yoga C930
The Yoga C930 has 3 sizes and prices available for you to choose: 13 inches, 14 inches and 15 inches. This convertible laptop is also more flexible and it has a longer battery life. However, to match the performance with the 15-inch configuration, you need to choose a 4K display and the screen with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels to beat the Retina, of course, this will cost you more and in exchange for the battery life.
Alienware Area-51m
This laptop won’t offer you an elegant design like that on the Macbook, but its performance can knock out the most premium MacBook Pro. The laptop houses a 17-inch screen, 64GB of RAM, 3TB of storage (2TB SSD), Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, and the i9-9900K chip. But all these specs will cost you Rs 3.6 lakh.
Starting at over Rs 2.3 lakh, you can get a desktop-class 8-core i7 chip, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and RTX 2070. This should be equal to the performance of a Rs 3.18 lakh MacBook. It lets you add a bunch of connectors and its performance matches that of a gaming laptop. However, its display resolution is only 1,920x1,080 pixels.
Huawei MateBook X Pro
The performance of the MateBook Pro X is as good as the MacBook 15 at a much cheaper price, even cheaper than the Retina MacBook 13. Its screen registers 3,000x2,000 pixels, which is better than the Retina display, with great RGB color accuracy as well as a more compact design than the 15-inch MacBook. And it has good battery life.
