As a student, did you ever try everything you could to avoid sitting an exam? Probably yes, right? But the way we did years ago cannot compare with how children do these days with the help of technology.
For example, these two 14-year-old students from Secaucus High School based in New Jersey, the US, were alleged of jamming and shutting down the entire Wi-Fi network of their school. These smart arses did this hoping that would make their school cancel the annual exam.
Well, it happened exactly like what you have just read; instead of pretending to be sick like we used to do back in the old days, the pair decided to bring down the school’s Wi-Fi network.
Reports indicated that the two teenagers faced charges of criminal conspiracy and activity for repeatedly shutting down the Wi-Fi network at school to avoid taking exams.
Because the school stores its curriculum on the Internet, Wi-Fi disruption would no exams or test could take place and maybe that’s the motivation for the pair’s action.
According to an official statement from the school after the Wi-Fi network got brought down:
It was likely that they used a microwave jamming app or equipment to knock out the school’s Wi-Fi network so that no one could access it. Since the IT department of the school couldn’t repair the problem, the school had to call the police.
The kids could have got away with the crime if they kept their exploits as a secret, but instead, they bragged about it. The consequence was an arrest by the authorities.
