Well, that is exactly what Aptera Motors, a startup from southern California is doing with its high-efficiency electric vehicle. The car actually, sold out in just 24 hours.

There is an option for consumers to put on the hood and hatch of the car a few more panels, adding up to 38 additional km of range.

The vehicle also has a battery pack providing a range of 1609km, greatly surpassing the 595 km of range of the Model S from Tesla.

There is an outlet of 110V for manual charging. The car can be charged via a standard wall socket.

Steve Fambro, Aptera co-founder said that while 64km did not sound a lot but it was actually equivalent to you parking your car overnight and have two gallons of gas magically filled up. It seems like petrol cars are gradually turning into a thing of the past.
