Earlier this year, when The North Face tested the Futurelight fabric, it said that it was the most breathable waterproof outfit. What the company uses is the nanospinning technology to create a kind of fabric that lets air through easily. According to The North Face, they can now make waterproof garments that are light, soft, durable, and comfortable.

Another welcoming feature of the latest fabric of The North Face is that it is created with sustainability in mind. According to the company, each Futurelight jacket will be made from recycled materials, in factories powered by solar energy, and there will be a process that all of them must go through to cut the use of chemicals. So in short, these jackets are lightweight, breathable, durable, and environmentally-friendly, or at least, cause less harm to the environment than other garments.
Some earlier reviewers who have had a chance to experience these jackets said that they felt more like windbreakers than waterproof garments, which is great because you will have to carry less weight when you run or walk.

To mark the release of this new high-tech garment, The North Face has set up an art installation in New York. What you will see is these jackets under messages like:
"WHAT IF WATERPROOF GEAR KEPT YOU DRY INSIDE AND OUT?"
"WHAT IF BREATHABILITY IS THE BREAKTHROUGH."
There is also an image of a triangle with a snow-capped mountain and some other landscapes. All of these are relevant to what The North Face has always established it with, a company that produces clothing for adventures.
Futurelight jackets are now available on The North Face site. The price for Flight Series jackets for men starts at $280. In the future, the company will expand to other gears like gloves, tents, and more.
