Despite the government’s repeated warnings to not stepping outside amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s a part of the society that just doesn’t listen.
In different cities, police are standing at various places to look for violators. Several methods have been deployed by the cops from doing sit-ups to lathi charge.
And now, in the Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu, cops at a checkpoint came up with this unique idea to teach violators a lesson. The video that has been going viral on the Internet shows men riding on vehicles without face masks stopped by the cops.
Things escalate quickly after the men are taken to the side of the road. The authorities then put the violators inside an ambulance that has a COVID-19 infected patient.
The men then jump right out of the vehicle, scared that they might be infected. They had no idea that this was the police’s plan to scare them and teach them a lesson. The cops had arranged a man to pose as a COVID-19 patient.
In another video, a lady cop said that this was implemented to emphasize the importance of staying inside and urge people not to go out if it was necessary.

Other state forces also come up with some really unorthodox ways. For people residing in Karnataka, those who decide to violate lockdown orders will have to clean public places. The first example was observed in Mandya district. The punishment was to clean the Devirammani Lake which is on the town’s outskirts. Meanwhile, recently, the Rishikesh police punished a group of foreigners for taking a stroll by making them write “sorry” 500 times.
