For those who have enough money to buy themselves a yacht, a brand new yacht on the market promises to bring to customers clean travel. The highlight of this new yacht is that it can practically cruise forever without fuel, noise, and polluting emissions.
The yacht, called “Solar Eclipse,” makes this possible by using the solar panels embedded at its top to harness the sun’s energy.
This month, in Bali, Indonesia, Singapore-based Azura Marine has launched its new yacht as its first-ever solar-powered catamaran yacht. The company says that the solar-powered yacht can on non-stop ocean voyages with sunlight as its only power. In the daytime, it harnesses solar energy and stores it in the batteries for later use during night time. The yacht’s harness energy is sufficient to run its propulsion as well as electrical systems.
According to the claim of Azura Marine, the Solar Eclipse yacht can travel over 100 nautical miles or 185 kilometers in one day without having to stop. This is made possible with its 10kW power capacity stored in the 60kWh battery bank of the yacht. The energy can power two 10kW electric motors.
Besides using sunlight as its power, the yacht also has a 56 square meter water maker, rain catchment system, and air-conditioning water recovery.
The yacht has four cabins with air conditioning that can accommodate up to 8 guests. Inside the cabins, there are ice maker, sink, and hob. The toilet and bathroom can be found on the main deck. Other features include WiFi connectivity and a marine sound system.
Owners can remotely control several functions like accessing the energy management system. There are CCTVs installed.
The solar roof also functions as a second deck for exercise, parties, and any other similar activity.
The Arura Marine team has found interested buyers from the USA, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The price of the yacht is €495,000 or RS 4,10,23,620. Depending on the needs of the ower, it is possible to customize the yacht. With the added packs, the price will increase even more.
