As stated by Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister, if health professionals lose their lives in the fight against CO.VID-19, their families will receive Rs. 1 crore.
This announcement was made during a video conference when Kejriwal was answering for the concern of doctors of the city. He also assured the health professionals that they were no less than soldiers at the front line.
Delhi government will give Rs. 1 crore to security personnel’s family so under this new policy, the immediate family of nurses, paramedical staff, sanitation workers, and doctors will receive an equal amount if they die fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.
Kejriwal said that while Rs. 1 crore was nothing compared to the effort made by health professionals, this was the way India thanked them for their sacrifice. He also added that when it came to gratitude for health officials, Rs. 100 crore was far from enough.
This policy is applied to both the public and private sectors. This announcement is believed to be the answer for two health professionals who tested positive for CO.VID-19.
Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi told Indians to light up torchlight, candles, and diyas to battle the darkness of the CO.VID-19 outbreak. The event is set to occur tomorrow at 9 PM and lasts for nine minutes. While lighting candles, he asked people to switch off the light in their houses.
What he aims at with this activity is to emphasize the country’s strength, positivity, and community. Modi also urged people to stay indoors and avoid gathering during the event.
