Daily Mail reports that Victoria is experiencing an alarming spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, leading to many locations being put under lockdown to prevent the spread.
Specifically, on July 1, Victoria recorded 73 new cases. The authority couldn’t trace the source of 20 cases. This is the highest number of new cases in a day since the outbreak broke out again in Victoria.

Daniel Andrews, the current Premier of Victoria admitted that the second COVID-19 wave was linked to some unacceptable behaviors of security guards working at isolating sites.
Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, a number of hotels around the country have been used to monitor anyone arriving in Australia. Over 60,000 Australians have gone through the quarantine period at the hotel.
They must go through a mandatory quarantine in 14 days at the facilities.

According to news sources, the second wave of Australia is linked to the s.e.x scandal between some workers and guests in isolation and the guards’ lack of training.
A contracted security guard said that before starting the job, he was trained in only five minutes.
The allegations have yet to be confirmed by officials. But if it were true that the security officers and the guests were sleeping with each other, that would be completely unacceptable.

Andrews added that Melbourne will not allow entry of any international traveler for the next two weeks. In the meantime, the Corrections Victoria running the state’s jails will be in charge of the quarantine program.
