It does look like the company has been making efforts to bring PUBG Mobile back to the country. After being banned along with other 117 Chinese apps, the South Korean game developer has cut ties with Chinese company Tencent. According to another trusted source, the matters being discussed between the two companies were about revenue share and localization. The source stated that legal experts on behalf of the two companies were discussing the ratio of revenue. Besides the revenue share matter, localization was also discussed.

However, there is no confirmation regarding this rumor. Industry executives believe that in India, there are not many tech companies that have the capabilities to operate a game like PUBG.

After cutting ties with Tencent for good, the Korean developer has officially taken over the publishing rights of the game. What it needs right now is an Indian partner for distribution. The game already follows the directive of the government to store private user data in the country.

With that being said, it still remains unknown whether the ban will be lifted if an Indian company is responsible for the distribution of PUBG Mobile in the country. So the question of when PUBG MOBILE launched in India after ban might be difficult for us to answer.

September 2 was a truly dreadful day for Indian PUBG players as the Indian government decided to ban the game. Almost instantly, the game was removed from both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. PUBG Mobile launch date in India was on February 9th, 2018. Since then, its popularity among Indian gamers has skyrocketed.

Just two days after the ban, the company suffered a loss of around $34 billion. This is pretty easy to understand since India makes up one-fourth of the game’s user base. In India, the number of monthly active users of PUBG Mobile is more than 40 million. Globally, it has over 50 million daily active users.
