New LinkedIn Job Posting Suggests PUBG Mobile Relaunch In India

After being banned by the Indian government back in September, a new job posting on the company’s LinkedIn suggests PUBG Mobile Relaunch In India.

PUBG Mobile, one of the world’s most popular battle royale games was banned by the Indian government back in September as a result of the rising tensions between the country and China due to conflicts at territorial borders. Since India has been one of PUBG Corp’s biggest user bases, the company has been attempting to bring the game back to the country. So will there be PUBG Mobile relaunch in India?

If you are among the Indian PUBG gamers who have been missing the game, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel after all. A new job posting on the company’s LinkedIn suggests that the game might be relaunched in India soon.

The job position is the Corporate Development Division Manager – India. The company posted this posting on October 19. Among the different responsibilities listed, there is one that says the person in charge of this position will support the setup process of PUBG India following guidance from HQ. The job posting also suggests PUBG Corp’s intention to set up offices in India.

PUBG Mobile Relaunch: After being banned along with other 117 Chinese apps, the South Korean game developer has cut ties with Chinese company Tencent.

It does look like the company has been making efforts to bring PUBG Mobile back to the country. After being banned along with other 117 Chinese apps, the South Korean game developer has cut ties with Chinese company Tencent. Since then, the company is said to have been searching for a different distribution partner, Airtel in particular.

However, there isn’t any new information regarding this. Hopefully, the game will be able to make a return in the country.

Before this rumor, there was a report suggesting that PUBG Corp held talks with Jio for the distribution of PUBG Mobile. Before the ban, PUBG Corp and Jio already established a partnership. Jio users who play PUBG Lite will receive rewards when purchasing in-game merchandise.

According to another trusted source, the matters being discussed between the two companies were about revenue share and localization. The source stated that legal experts on behalf of the two companies were discussing the ratio of revenue. Besides the revenue share matter, localization was also discussed.

However, there is no confirmation regarding this rumor. Industry executives believe that in India, there are not many tech companies that have the capabilities to operate a game like PUBG.

After cutting ties with Tencent for good, the Korean developer has officially taken over the publishing rights of the game. What it needs right now is an Indian partner for distribution. The game already follows the directive of the government to store private user data in the country.

With that being said, it still remains unknown whether the ban will be lifted if an Indian company is responsible for the distribution of PUBG Mobile in the country. So the question of when PUBG MOBILE launched in India after ban might be difficult for us to answer.

September 2 was a truly dreadful day for Indian PUBG players as the Indian government decided to ban the game. Almost instantly, the game was removed from both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. PUBG Mobile launch date in India was on February 9th, 2018. Since then, its popularity among Indian gamers has skyrocketed.

Just two days after the ban, the company suffered a loss of around $34 billion. This is pretty easy to understand since India makes up one-fourth of the game’s user base. In India, the number of monthly active users of PUBG Mobile is more than 40 million. Globally, it has over 50 million daily active users.

Pubg Mobile Launched In India Again
PUBG Mobile Relaunch: there might be a possibility that the Indian government wouldn’t lift the ban on the same due to its violent nature.

Despite the new job posting, it is hard to say whether PUBG Mobile relaunch might really come true. A recent report has pointed out that, there might be a possibility that the Indian government wouldn’t lift the ban on the same due to its violent nature.

Talking with Reuters, the official said that even after PUBG Mobile and Tencent had cut ties for good, things weren’t going to change if the game’s violent nature remained.
