PUBG Corp recently announced that it had cut ties with Tencent to shake off the Chinese app tag in the hope to bring back PUBG Mobile to the Indian market.
According to a new report, PUBG Corp is seeking a partnership with an Indian gaming company to relaunch the game in India.
According to the report, the company is in talks with an India-based gaming firm about a licensing agreement. The Indian partner will be in charge of localizing data, handling PUBG Mobile Tournament, and developing India-specific content.
However, at this point, we can’t be sure that a new agreement with a local firm will save PUBG Mobile from its ill fate.
Here is what a senior government official said regarding the ban:
According to industry experts, only a handful of companies in India can handle a game like PUBG Mobile.
Rumor has it that PUBG Corp is working with Reliance Jio to let the latter taking over the license for the game. However, that rumor hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Another company that has the needed power is Paytm First Games which is in an agreement with Garena Free Fire, PUBG Mobile’s rival in India.

The Indian government banned the battle royale game and its Lite version last week, along with 116 other Chinese apps.
