People are applying different measures to protect themselves from COVID-19. For one, everybody now wears a mask whenever they go out of their houses or contact with another person. Washing hands regularly with soaps and hand sanitizers are also widely applied as it helps wash off bacteria and viruses. Besides, people avoid using cash, switch to online shopping, etc., which eventually helps reduce direct contact to limit the spread of the pandemic.
But those are just the easiest and most applicable ways for regular residents because not all of us can get effective disinfection to protect themselves from COVID-19. However, a group of researchers and engineers in Vietnam have come up with a new creation that will help typical residents to get disinfected properly.
In particular, the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health has created a mobile disinfection room. The prototype began undergoing testing on March 11.
On March 12, the Institute conducted trials with its employees as well as workers who came to get a medical check during the COVID-19 outbreak. The disinfection process took just 15 seconds to complete and everyone was so excited to try this new device though they had to line up and wait for their turn.
The development of this mobile disinfection room began in February 2020, the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health and a group of engineers from Hanoi University of Science and Technology carried out a lot of tested and came up with changes to finally create this prototype. They will continue to work on the model so that it can be more effective.
Apart from this creation, the Institute has also developed a disinfection cabin to get rid of bacteria and germs on the clothes of doctors and healthcare providers who are working to fight COVID-19. The engineers are also working on new products to aid hospitals or quarantine areas. Let’s hope that these useful creations will soon be perfect and applied on a larger scale to help us all overcome this pandemic.
