Magic Leap, which is known as an augmented reality (AR) startup, has had a plan to combine the physical world with the digital one.

In October 2018, Rony Abovitz, the CEO of Magic Leap first introduced the “Magicverse” including a chain of digital layers which will cover the real world by AR.

Last week, the startup had a new interview and a post on its blog to explain its concept, as well as its vision in the future. Accordingly, the boundary between these two worlds will blur and then may disappear.

Magicverse is really exciting. To comprehend the idea better, Magic Leap visualizes a future where all of the locations – including a small space like a room or a large space like a country – own both a physical existence and a digital one which forms many kinds of different layers. For instance, one layer may cover wellness and health, meanwhile, another layer focuses on entertainment or mobility.

Humans can approach all of the layers via advanced technologies, such as AR headset manufactured by Magic Leap. The potentials of the Magicverse project can seemingly be undeniable.

The biggest issues in this project may be implementation costs and how to deploy it as planned.

The inventors of the Magicverse have still had a lot to deal with privacy problems. Although the digital world has now owned all of the personal data, the company will have to find out how to protect it based on architectures and policies. And that’s what it is now doing.
