Place, the augmented reality app form IKEA, has been quite handy in giving users a clearer idea of how Furniture will look in your room. However, it was not until recently that the app lets you see multiple items at a time.

This ability comes with the latest iOS app with and Android equivalent to be launched soon. With this function, users can have both furniture from the Room Sets or the self-picked ones. Users can now see for themselves if the lamp and lounge chair combo they intend to buy looks with the rest of the room.

This update also comes with a profile for users to create a wish list of items they have tried in augmented reality. A feed named For You, on the other hand, will keep you up-to-date with new collections, suggestions, and products in case you do not know where you should start.

If you are not aware, IKEA’s Place app features over 3,200 items from the inventory of the Swedish-founded multinational group. Users can see for themselves how the furniture fits in with the room they intend to place it in by making use of augmented reality technology.

The way the app works is similar to that of Pokémon Go, but instead of throwing Poké balls, users can put furniture in a room.

This app used to be exclusive on Apple devices because it needs ARKit, the iPhone maker’s augmented reality platform, to operate.

Google also has an equivalent platform called ARCore to support the app. With ARCore, any device, even without special software or sensor, can run apps that can lay objects over live images.
