Family Falls Sick After Eating Dish Made With Marijuana

In a strange incident, an Uttar Pradesh family cooked and ate “ganja sabzi” (marijuana), thinking it was methi (fenugreek).

In a strange incident, an Uttar Pradesh family cooked and ate “ganja sabzi” (marijuana), thinking it was methi (fenugreek).

The incident reportedly happened in Miyagani village. Navbharat Times reports that a man whose name is Naval Kinoshre game a packet of marijuana to Nitesh, the son of a fellow villager, saying it was methi. Apparently, Nitesh didn’t know that it wasn't a vegetable.

He came home and gave his sister-in-law the weed packet. Without realizing anything, she cooked the weed packet.

After the family of six ate the dish, their health deteriorated. So they asked their neighbors to help them call an ambulance. They fainted and were taken to a hospital after that.

Through an investigation, the police found the marijuana, thus detaining the vegetable who claimed that it was just a joke.

The family is said to be recovering and is taken care of by the hospital staff.
