During the COVID-19 pandemic, PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) kits are absolutely a necessity. However, it seems like there are some people who can’t figure out the differences between a raincoat and a PPE.
In a strange event, a drunk man took a PPE kit from a hospital, mistaking that it was only a raincoat. According to reports, the man is a vegetable seller. After he fell into a drain, he was admitted to Mayo Hospital in Nagpur to treat his injuries.
After receiving initial treatment, the man returned home with a PPE kit that he stole from the hospital. He said to his friends that the PPE kit was a raincoat that he had paid Rs 1,000 to purchase.
People then realized that it was a raincoat instead of a PPE kit. The information was reported to the health department officials of the city. The protective gear was then seized and burnt.
After that, officials collected the man’s sample to test for COVID-19. And the result turned out to be positive.
The officials then traced all his primary contacts and tested them. These included his family members, relatives as well as friends. All of the results came out negative.
The pandemic has exploited loopholes in the administration and medical. It há also brought out the best as well as the worst in people.
