Around four years ago, using WhatsApp, an unknown service was carrying out people’s different tasks. For about a year, while the service continued to operate this way, the founders slowly developed a more formalized version.
Today, the service is known as Dunzo. Dunzo is an app that helps consumers deal with basic tasks. The app now also offers groceries delivery, bike taxis, and food delivery using sophisticated machine learning algorithms.
Currently, 2 million monthly transactions are carried out through the app. The company hopes that this number will reach 7 million by the end of 2019. In fact, Mukund Jha said that in the last 18 months, with more cities added to its portfolio, Dunzo has grown 30 times.

Jha said:

Currently, users use Dunzo to buy groceries, order food, deliver packages locally and many other things.
Dunzo is a part of a larger ecosystem called the hyperlocal delivery space, which used to be considered as a failure. Of course, one of the most successful names has been Swiggy, which in December 2018 successfully called for a billion dollars of investment. Swiggy, whose first focusing field was food delivery, announced the Swiggy Stores in Feb 2019 as its venture into the hyperlocal market.
Swiggy spokesperson said in a statement:

On the other hand, Dunzo which has the backup of Google has raised $12 million in 2017.

Scootsy is another example of startups using technology for the hyperlocal space monetization. In 2018, Swiggy acquired the Mumbai-based startup. Recently, the company announced that it would partner with Food Hall of Future Group this April.
At that time, according to the company, Mumbai will be the first location for Scootsy to roll out its delivery service. Next up will be Delhi and Bengaluru.
