Each day, thousands of people visit the retail stores of Apple to pick up the latest tech gadgets and other Apple products. But this summer, the Apple store at the Grand Central Station in New York welcomed a visitor wanting to pick up an unusual kind of products: over one pound of meth.
On Monday, a press release from the Special Narcotics Prosecutor of New York stated that a 32-year-old guy from Los Angeles called Richard Dean Desain, was seized at the Grand Central Station Apple store back in July when he came to pick up the package. The prosecutor said that multiple meth shipments which worth over ten thousand dollars had been arranged to arrive in different locations in New York. It’s still unclear if the package in Apple Store arrived by accident or by purpose.
During his trial on Monday, Desain claimed to not have committed the crime. He is currently under a $100,000 bail.

The Apple employee mentioned above immediately informed the NYPD about this. On July 8, when Desain walked into the Apple store to pick up the box, he was immediately arrested. The police found an additional amount of meth that weighed over 100grams from his body.
After nine months of investigation, on Monday, the Manhattan Supreme Court handed down a new indictment declared that by using delivery services, Desain had been carrying out meth shipments within New York and New Jersey. On the packages’ label wrote “Dean Desain” of “Dean’s List.”
Authorities say that they had put in a listening device on one of Desain’s handsets and collected his messages on “standard sizes” and pricing.
According to the indictment, Desain is charged with:
